Simply Charming Quilts

I've had the book Simply Charming for a long time. In looking at the inside cover I see it was published in 2011. I bought it right away when it was published and never got around to making any of the quilts. Thanks to Kathy and Darlene starting a Simply Charming club I finally made not one but two quilts from this book. Here's the first one Grannie's Scrap Box. It was the first quilt in the book and I liked Darlene's so that's the one I decided to make. My quilt is totally scrappy and I love it. I have lots of scraps so I'm going to do the quilts from this book using my scraps. I hand quilted it which adds a nice charm to my scrappy quilt.

Here's some close-ups of some very cute fabrics:
Cute little Bunny Hill bunny.
Love the umbrella. Fabric line: Apple Jack
Had to use this cute little Boston dog.

I'm using it on my sewing room table. It's nice for putting my phone on and a couple baskets of fun sewing things.

I could have stopped there cause I made my one quilt but I didn't. I wanted a small quilt to use for St. Patrick's Day decorating. I like to decorate with my quilts for the holidays. This quilt is from the pattern Nellie's Nine Patch. I did my chain in white which I think looks pretty good. Instead of doing the extra row I kept mine square. I just liked it better being even with three nine-patches on each end. I hand quilted this one too. Fun and sewed up really fast.

Thanks for visiting. I'm going to go link up with Kindred Quilts now.

Love your Grannie's Scrap Box .... it reminds of fabric scraps that my grandmother's might have had. What a cute little quilt for St. Paddy's day!

love it! I need to try charms. I meant to ask do you hand sew or machine or both? I do both.

Very cute Carol! Love the Grannie's Scrap box it the bright rainbow of colors... so cheery! The nine patch is perfect for St. Patrick's day decorating- great idea! I decided on Nellie's Nine Patch for my second mini from this book... mine will be predominately blue. Like you, I plan on making mine square. Glad you are enjoying this little sew along!

Love them both but your Grannie's Scrap Box is calling my name! Imagine. And I'm not big on scrappy at all. I think it's because your scraps are all happy colors. :)

I find the smaller quilts to be fun to make, they don't take forever to make and there are many places to use them. I like your fun St. Patties Day quilt! Happy quilting! :-D

Love both your quilts! Nellie's nine-patch in green is striking with the green as the background!
