Sail Into Summer
I love my little Sailboat quilt for my Summer decorating. Mary did a wonderful job of quilting waves on it for my. I like the simplicity of it being just blue and white.
Here's a picture of it with my other Summer decorating. Lucy's Crab Shack Schnibbles quilt - Doc is on the table with a cute retro bike. On the wall is a couple lighthouse pictures taken by my husband. He's a pretty good photographer, our hallway walls are filled with his photos. I borrowed a couple lighthouse pictures and put them on the living room wall to go with my Summer Beach theme.
The pattern I used was from the June/July 2013 issue of Quilt magazine. I like how it looks here in this magazine picture. I changed mine a bit using sashing and making it smaller to be a wallhanging.
When I got my quilt back from Mary and I was looking at it I thought that I should have adjusted the block before I sewed it together with my sashings because my boats kinda look like they're floating in air. So what I decided to do was make some waves. I hand quilted swirly waves with some blue pearl floss, mostly echoing Mary's waves quilting. I love how it turned out. Thanks again for helping make my quilt cute with your wonderful quilting Mary.
This quilt is super cute on my wall. I'm going to enjoy looking at it this summer.
