Summer Decorating & One Finish for 10 Things for Summer
I kept calling this quilt Card Trick but it's actually a Schnibbles pattern called Doc. I finished sewing on the binding and that gives me one finish for my goal of 10 Things for Summer. I made this quilt last year and just now getting around to the binding, do you ever do that? I found that cute retro bike decoration at Big Lots. I thought my Beany Baby Boston dog would look cute next to the bike.
I made a couple other small table toppers this last weekend both from Lucy's Crab Shack and the Doc quilt is also Lucy's Crab Shack fabric. This first one just simple 3 1/2" squares. Notice that Arizona Highways magazine, that blue truck on the cover with the teardrop trailer belongs to one of our teardrop camping friends. You can't see the trailer in this picture but it's blue like the truck.
This next one turned out much much smaller than the pattern called for but that's fine. I had a kit from Sweetwater along with the pattern. The squares I had were 9" but they were not square so I didn't use their instructions, instead I just cut 4 1/2" strips and used my Lazy Angle ruler. It's fine that it's small, it's almost like a mug rug size. I put it on my side table in the living room with these little chairs which are really candle holders but I'm not using them as candle holders. Instead I made little cushions for them.
This is my Joy Luck Schnibbles quilt that matched perfectly with my Beachy Summer theme I have going on with my Summer decorating.
